Heat Pump Inspection

Just like a regular oil furnace, a yearly heat pump inspection is vital to keep the unit running well, while also remaining energy efficient. If a heat pump is not maintained, not only can it be a safety hazard, it also will not run as efficiently, costing perhaps hundreds of dollars over the course of a year.

The technicians at Complete Mechanical, Inc. are well-versed in many different brands and manufacturers of heat pump systems, and are highly trained in inspecting and maintaining all of them. As part of the yearly checklist, our technicians routinely check all of the operational parts of a heat pump to ensure its proper function. Some of these items include, but are not limited to: making sure there is no leakage within the duct work, checking the blower and outdoor coil, checking and most likely replacing the air filter, lubricating motors, checking electrical components, and ensuring that the thermostat is working properly.

Those with heat pumps that also act as air conditioning units have several more items to check, such as the level of refrigerant, looking for refrigerant leaks, and checking for adequate airflow when cooling.
