HVAC Tips for the Holidays

HVAC Tips for the Holidays in EdmondsAt Complete Mechanical, we can help with your HVAC for the holidays in Edmonds. As stores everywhere are filling up with tinsel and toys, and tots of all ages are listening for those sleigh bells to come ring-ting, tingling, we’d like to give all the families in our area some practical advice. Some of it you will probably already know, but some might be new to you.

  • Change out your heating filters. Even if you got that done in the fall along with your regular furnace tune-up, if you’ve been running your system for a month, it is a good idea to have a fresh filter.
  • Keep combustibles away from heat sources. If your space is small, that could be more difficult than you would like. Christmas trees, wrapping paper, even some cooking supplies can become a fire hazard.
  • And give yourself a little extra change when the Tax Man comes around by taking advantage of the 2016 Federal Tax income tax credits for geothermal heat pumps, small wind turbines, or solar energy systems. You will need to act fast – these credits expire December 31, 2016. If you have already had one of these installations, be sure to take advantage of the credits.
